Choosing The Right Door Handle

With a wide range of different types of door handles available, it can be difficult to decide on the type that is most suitable for the doors you are furnishing; whether that is in your own home, a commercial property or for a new development.

To help you with this process, we have created the following guide; providing information about the three main types of door handle available, with additional recommendations for where these products can best be used in your property.

1. Pull door handles

Pull door handles are commonly used in commercial environments; regularly seen on the front doors of shops, offices, restaurants or pubs, as well as for internal doors leading to rooms such as kitchens, bars or public bathrooms.

2. Lever door handles

At Doorfit, we stock two types of lever door handles; lever door handles on rose, and lever door handles on backplate. Both types of these handles are popular within homes; commonly used on interior doors such as those leading to bedrooms, bathrooms, the dining room or lounge.

3. Multipoint door handles

Multipoint door handles are most commonly used with upvc doors and windows and provide practical locking functionality. These handles will, in most cases, feature a deadbolt and live bolt or latch located within them; often operated by lifting the handle and turning the key to lock into place.
